How can I select my seats if I’m buying tickets from my phone?
Scroll to the bottom of the tickets page and click “Full Site”. This will take you to the desktop site and while it loads slower, has the full features, including choosing your seats.
What is the dress code?
You will see blue jeans and you will see long dresses and pearls. Most folks dress in business or business casual. The truth is we don’t really care as long as you are interested in good music.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes, at the box office in the lower floor of the Meyerson. The box office opens 90 minutes prior to each concert.
Can I see Dallas Winds play anywhere other than the Meyerson?
The Dallas Winds performs annually at the Addison KaboomTown Celebration on July 3. We also perform for the Dallas Fourth of July celebration in Fair Park.
Is there food available at the Meyerson?
Yes. The restaurant in the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center is called “Opus” – View their menu and make online reservations can be made on their website http://diningatthemeyerson.com/opus.htm. Before concerts and during intermission drink service is available at several satellite bars spread around the lobby.
There are also several restaurants within comfortable walking distance (300 yards or less)
Stephen Pyles’ Flora Street Café http://florastreet.com/
Jorge’s Texmex Café http://www.jorgestexmex.com/

Tei-Ahn http://www.tei-an.com
If you have a drink or dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse on McKinney Avenue, you can leave your car in their lot and they will shuttle you over to the concert and back.
Why do concerts start at 7:30?
We don’t want to keep you out too late on a work or school night! Many of our concerts are attended by school groups and band students. We try to end the performances around 9:30 so that there are no bleary eyes the next day.
What kind of music do you play?
We play everything from transcriptions of famous classical pieces to world premieres by up and coming composers. Maestro Jerry Junkin keeps us on the cutting edge of wind band music but always plays a Sousa march at the end of every performance.
Are you part of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra?
No, we are not affiliated with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in any way. Some of our musicians perform with the DSO on occasion, but other than sharing the Meyerson we have no connection.
How long are your concerts?
Concerts average about 2 hours, not counting any special pre-concert or post-concert events.
Why is there a fanfare in the lobby before the concert?
Our fanfares serve two purposes: First, to set a triumphant tone for the start of an incredible concert. Second, to give composers an opportunity to have their music heard and performed. Every year we have a fanfare competition where ANYONE can submit a fanfare. From these submission we select 9 fanfares to be performed throughout the season. Each fanfare is a world premiere.
Why aren't concerts on Friday or Saturday nights?
Weekends are reserved at the Meyerson for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and touring acts. Also, Band Students and School Groups are a large part of our audience. They are marching on Friday nights and performing on the weekends. It is much easier for a band director to take a field trip during the school week.
Why don't you play at the Eisemann Center?
It is usually booked by resident groups for Friday, Saturday and Sunday performances. Plus we frequently play compositions that include organ and there is no organ at the Eisemann Center.
